Leaving government, again
After almost nine years as a public servant, I'm leaving government (again) to re-join the private sector.
In my new role, I'll be the Director of Product and Operations for a software company in Toronto. There will be some travel, but mainly I will work remotely from Whitehorse.
I joined Department of Tourism and Culture in February 2022 to further my leadership skills and take on a challenge. I sought to merge my abilities from a career in digital and IT with the physical world. The mission was to adapt and deliver a more interconnected visitor experience between our buildings, people and online.
To that end, I'd like to believe we've succeeded. There are now more than 20 interactive kiosks located around the Yukon, a new tourism indicators dashboard, a new online video travel advice service and many other new touchpoints for visitors to engage with.

Thanks to all the Visitor Information Centre staff for welcoming, supporting and trusting me to lead them during this time of transformation and new ideas. We went through a lot together! Some of my favourite memories during the past 3.5 years are from the days I spent travelling to and in our communities, the people I met and the relationships we created.

I also want to thank so many others - far too many to list - in our department, at all levels, who taught, influenced, were patient and collaborated with me to make positive change happen. We accomplished a ton and I am proud of everything we achieved together.
Last but far from least, a special thank you to my Director and the previous Assistant Deputy Minister for their kindness, encouragement and wisdom.
They enabled me to be genuine, honest and do what is right, even when sometimes doing the right thing was really hard.
